Estimating medical risks is difficult for insurers. This is just as true now as it was more than a century ago. If anything was wrong, the applicant was rejected. In 1905, a group of insurers decided that a solution had to be found. They found that insurers were failing in their social role and wanted to change that. Vulnerable people also had to have access to life insurance. NV Levensverzekering-Maatschappij De Hoop was established.
This year we are 115 years old. Our mission is still the same. We believe that everyone should be able to take out life insurance and we are happy to help insurers with this. De Hoop has three Dutch shareholders: Aegon, Nationale-Nederlanden and Onderlinge ‘s-Gravenhage.
